Architectural elements from two rooms of the Greek Revival Clarkson Mansion c. 1836 were donated to the Brooklyn Museum in the 1940s and have been stored at the museum until coming to Hudson Valley House Parts.
This incredible collection includes 6 large mahogany doors and 9 sets of beautiful door surrounds with ornate pediments and pilasters; 2 full columns and 8 pilasters all with finely detailed capitals; 8 parlor window frames, 5 sets of interior shutters and 14 exterior shutters; the carved newel posts and other stair parts from a 25 step spiral staircase; and assorted wood trim and moulding.
In addition, in the 1940s, the Brooklyn Museum commissioned artisans to reproduce the original plasterwork in the mansion. This collection has these exceptional plaster pieces including a 5' diameter roundel and hundreds of linear feet of plaster moulding.
